<h2>Planning Enforcement Officer</h2> (HMOs &amp; Residential Enforcement) Surrey Part-time 12-month contract <h3>The role</h3> We are seeking an experienced Planning Enforcement Officer to join our Planning team on a part-time, 12-month contract, with a specific focus on Houses in Multiple Occupation (HMOs) and related residential planning breaches. This role will support the council in managing a growing enforcement caseload, ensuring compliance with planning legislation and protecting residential amenity. The post offers flexible working arrangements suitable for candidates seeking a part-time contract. <h3>Key responsibilities</h3> You will: <ul> <li> Investigate and manage planning enforcement cases, with a strong focus on unauthorised HMOs </li> <li> Carry out site visits, inspections and evidence gathering </li> <li> Assess breaches of planning control and recommend appropriate action </li> <li> Prepare and serve enforcement notices and related legal documentation </li> <li> Liaise with internal teams including housing, legal services and environmental health </li> <li> Engage with landlords, agents, residents and other stakeholders </li> <li> Support appeals, prosecutions and planning inquiries where required </li> </ul>
