I'm delighted to be supporting a Local Authority in the Thames Estuary in recruiting a Principal Planner on a full-time, 6 month temporary basis.( Please note you will be required to be on site 2 days per week. The Role:
- You will join the council’s planning team, working with friendly and supportive colleagues and will be involved in a wide variety of planning work relating to the future growth of our borough with a particular emphasis on dealing with major and strategic planning application
- Decisiveness and ambition for our borough are key qualities in this role so that you discharge our important statutory functions, play a key role in advising on and facilitating effective service delivery.
- A keen collaborator and team player, you may also have the opportunity to work across the planning function of the Council including the planning policy and enforcement teams. As a strong communicator, verbal and written, you will undertake all areas of planning for the local authority, including attending developer meetings and planning committees.
- Member of the Royal Town Planning Institute
- Knowledge and understanding of planning legislation and regulations
- Previous experience of managing major planning
- Working Pattern: 37 hours per week (hybrid working, 2 days on site)
- Pay Rate: £50.00 - £55.00 p/h
- Contract Length: 6 month contract, very likely to be extended
