What you’ll be doing: 
<ul>
<li>Delivering the functional design of Internal Comms and Platform Data Systems (ICPDS), ensuring that customer requirements, and user requirements are elicited and agreed, and that systems and equipment are compliant with these requirements</li>
<li>Ensuring that the Communications and Networks scope integrates functionally with all the other systems and scenarios that call upon it</li>
<li>Assessing programme and technical risks to the delivery of the agreed Communications and Networks scope and propose mitigation activities and fall-back opportunities to the client</li>
<li>Supporting the 3D modelling activities and the programme review events to mature the 3D design and allowing release of data to production</li>
<li>Preparing the Comms systems hardware and software configuration for integration in a specialist integration facility</li>
<li>Supporting the integration team in the management of the acquisition of and installation of the facility equipment into the facility</li>
<li>Finalising the Comms verification and validation strategy and ensuring this is understood and bought-into by relevant parties</li>
</ul>
Your skills and experiences:
Essential
<ul>
<li>Demonstrable experience of working with third party companies to develop products</li>
<li>Proven management experience within a complex systems environment, such as: avionics, communications, military platforms, oil &amp; gas, automotive, nuclear, power etc. </li>
<li>Degree (Honours) or equivalent qualification or experience within relevant engineering discipline</li>
<li>Demonstrable experience of leading teams</li>
</ul>
Desirable
<ul>
<li>Chartered Engineer or working towards this</li>
</ul>

The Internal Comms and Platform Data Systems (ICPDS) team:
As an Engineering Manager (Data Network &amp; Communications), you will be in charge of a team of engineers responsible for the design, qualification, development and validation of internal communication equipment. This will involve liaising with key internal stakeholders, as well as large suppliers, subcontractors and the MOD. This role will provide you with the chance to work with the delivery of complex systems involving the latest innovative technologies, within a well-established team. We offer relocation support packages across all Submarines roles, subject to meeting eligibility criteria.

What you’ll be doing:

<li>Liaising with Manufacturing Engineering, Operations, Projects, Supply Chain and Engineering to resolve issues arising during Design.</li>
<li>Applying problem-solving tools and techniques on during the design phases from PFMEA to design for manufacture</li>
<li>Capturing lessons from build activities and integrating them into strategy to prevent recurrence</li>
</ul>
Your skills and experiences:
Essential:
<ul>
<li>Minimum HNC or equivalent experience in a STEM discipline</li>
<li>Strong understanding of engineering drawings and CAD models</li>
<li>Experience using problem-solving tools like Lean Six Sigma</li>
</ul>
Desirable:
<ul>
<li>Experience engaging with cross-functional stakeholders to resolve engineering/planning issues</li>

The SSNA Manufacturing Engineering Team:
As a Senior Manufacturing Engineer, working in the Build Strategy team, you will be joining the SSNA programme but will need to collate learning from experience from Dreadnought &amp; Astute when needed. You will be liaising and managing relations with a variety of stakeholders and business teams to ensure Manufacturing has voice within the Design community, enabling the design to be built in the most optimal way. You will be playing a key part in supporting the delivery of major projects and gaining exposure to senior stakeholders.
