What you’ll be doing:

<li>Liaising with Manufacturing Engineering, Operations, Projects, Supply Chain and Engineering to resolve issues arising during Design.</li>
<li>Applying problem-solving tools and techniques on during the design phases from PFMEA to design for manufacture</li>

Your skills and experiences:
Essential:
<ul>
<li>Minimum HNC or equivalent experience in a STEM discipline</li>
<li>Strong understanding of engineering drawings and CAD models</li>
<li>Experience using problem-solving tools like Lean Six Sigma</li>

Desirable:

<li>Experience engaging with cross-functional stakeholders to resolve engineering/planning issues</li>

The SSNA Manufacturing Engineering Team:
As a Senior Manufacturing Engineer, working in the Build Strategy team, you will be joining the SSNA programme but will need to collate learning from experience from Dreadnought &amp; Astute when needed. You will be liaising and managing relations with a variety of stakeholders and business teams to ensure Manufacturing has voice within the Design community, enabling the design to be built in the most optimal way. You will be playing a key part in supporting the delivery of major projects and gaining exposure to senior stakeholders. Senior Manufacturing Engineer – Build Strategy

Job Title: Senior Manufacturing Engineering Manager
Location: Barrow-In-Furness – Onsite
Salary: £63,000+ Depending on experience
What you’ll be doing:

Working with deployed Manufacturing Engineering Managers on all three submarine programmes to allow them to progress the Manufacturing Engineering mandate

Supporting the Manufacturing Engineering function via effective people development and deployment across all programmes in line with departmental and business strategic goals

Taking ownership of the Manufacturing Engineering governance processes, driving compliance and strategic development

Your skills and experiences:

Demonstrable experience as a leader in Manufacturing Engineering in a highly regulated industry
</li>
<li>
Demonstrable experience on complex large-scale industrial or defence build programmes or experience in a highly regulated industry
</li>
<li>
Degree qualified in STEM or equivalent (ideally in manufacturing or sub discipline)
</li>
<li>
Highly capably at influencing senior stakeholders and delivery focused teams
</li>
<li>
Understanding of manufacturing enablement including modern techniques and processes
</li>
<li>
Good understanding of manufacturing tooling and the role of Manufacturing Engineering within this space
</li>
<li>
Experience in a senior governance role with and or an understanding of auditing would be an advantage
</li>
<li>
Experience in capability acquisition and or new technology insertion would be an advantage
</li>
<li>
Experience in APQP would be advantageous
</li>
