<li>Subcontractor &amp; Team Leadership: Proven management of subcontractors and multidisciplinary teams.</li>
<li>High-Volume Contract Management: Experience with large-scale contracts, ensuring financial and operational efficiency.</li>
<li>Financial &amp; Contractual Oversight: Skilled in cost value reconciliations, profit and loss management, and risk mitigation.</li>
<li>Utilities Industry Expertise: Extensive experience in the commercial management of high-volume contracts in the utilities sector.</li>
<li>Stakeholder Relationship Development: Strong track record in managing senior relationships.</li>
<li>Performance Improvement: Ability to identify and address operational and process gaps.</li>
<li>RICS Qualification: Desirable but not essential.</li>
<li>NEC4 Contract Experience: Essential, particularly in utilities.</li>
<li>Framework Contract Expertise: Experience with large-scale framework contracts in the utilities sector.</li>

Head of Commercial

<h3>Description</h3><br>As a Commercial Manager, you will efficiently manage all commercial aspects of the business continually striving for improvement on profit margins and our working capital position. You will lead a commercial team with significant opportunity for development through business growth; consistently driving a culture of margin improvement. You will be a key figure in managing and owning the client relationship ensuring we maximise our position commercially.<br><br>
<br><h3>Key Responsibilities</h3><br><ul>
<li>Ensure the achievement of annual (and monthly) commercial objectives and targets in line with the operations manager; setting the annual contract plan &amp; monitor / deliver performance against it</li>
<li>Actively manage and participate in the winning of work; overseeing Process Management and negotiation of key contract terms for new (&amp; where appropriate existing contracts) to minimise business risk and maximise returns</li>
<li>Develop new processes &amp; management for: Cost &amp; value capture, subcontractor relationships and management, weekly profit and loss production and evaluation and application process and accuracy</li>
<li>Have control of Value recovery, billing and WIP identification</li>
<li>Proactively manage cash (inflow and outflow) including identification of, and delivery of betterment</li>
<li>Implement and drive weekly &amp; monthly performance reviews taking accountability for performance to interrogate performance and ensure appropriate actions in place to resolve any underperformance</li>
<li>Ensure contract compliance from an operational and commercial perspective and drive this as through business culture - Run commercial workshops where appropriate</li>
<li>Ensure compliance with deadlines – both internal and client enforced</li>
</ul><br><h3>Experience and Qualifications</h3><br><ul>
<li>Management of subcontractors</li>
<li>Leadership of a multidiscipline team (Senior QS, QS, Commercial assistants) is desirable</li>
<li>Having commercially administrated high volume activity contracts</li>
<li>Management and production of cost value reconciliations (Weekly P&amp;L statements)</li>
<li>Experience of new contracts / change management of existing (setting up new processes)</li>
<li>Development of key relationships with senior stakeholders (internal &amp; customer)</li>
<li>Degree qualification (RICS accredited or equivalent) is desirable but not essential</li>
<li>Sound knowledge of contracts</li>
<li>Awareness of industry issues</li>
<li>Good health, safety and environmental awareness</li>
