We're looking for a Road Lighting Design Engineer to join our Design team based Nationwide.

Location: Nationwide - remote working available, with occasional travel to the office required.
Hours: 40 hours per week - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us.

Salary: Starting from £36,000 per annum

Sector: Design - Highways

Join our collaborative Road Lighting Design team and play a vital role in delivering safe, sustainable lighting solutions for highways projects across the UK. You'll work with major clients including National Highways, Transport for London and Local Highway Authorities, contributing to projects that make a real difference to communities nationwide.

What will you be responsible for?

As a Road Lighting Design Engineer, you'll be working within the Design team, supporting them in delivering high-quality road lighting and electrical design solutions. Your day to day will include:

  • Delivering road lighting and electrical design tasks to agreed time, cost and quality standards
  • Preparing design calculations, drawings and reports using tools such as AutoCAD, Dialux, Lighting Reality and CableCalc
  • Developing safe, buildable and compliant design solutions in collaboration with project teams
  • Applying health & safety, quality and environmental requirements throughout the design process
  • Supporting junior team members and communicating effectively with clients and colleagues

What are we looking for?

This role of Road Lighting Design Engineer is great for you if:

  • You hold an HNC/HND or Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
  • You're IEng qualified or working towards professional registration with the IET or ILP
  • You hold the ILP Exterior Lighting Diploma or equivalent road lighting expertise
  • You have experience in road lighting and electrical design within the highways sector
  • You hold a full driving licence
