What you’ll be doing:

<li>Manage and administer the DOORS Classic database for Dreadnought Combat Systems</li>
<li>Develop the DOORS database to produce and tailor information to support business reporting and the wider Acceptance process.</li>
<li>Support the Requirements and Acceptance Team to achieve Acceptance of the Dreadnought Combat System</li>
<li>Guide engagements with wider business stakeholders on the development of the toolset requirements capability to support the programme throughout its life</li>

Your skills and experiences:
Essential:
<ul>
<li>Extensive experience using the IBM Rational DOORS Classic 9.6/9.7 as either an SME user or administrator, including use of the Rational Publishing Engine (RPE) and Requirement Interchange Format (ReqIF).</li>
<li>Clear understanding of the systems engineering lifecycle and the management of requirements through to acceptance</li>
<li>Significant experience within Systems Engineering</li>
</ul>
Desirable:
<ul>
<li>Previous experience using Jira, Confluence, Enterprise Architect</li>
<li>Understanding of engineering governance process and strategies</li>
<li>Knowledge of Combat Systems</li>

Job Title: Firefighting / SMERAS Systems Engineer

What you’ll be doing:

<li>Design of Firefighting, and/or Submarine Escape, Rescue, Abandonment, and Survival (SMERAS) systems, sub-systems and equipment for the next generation Royal Navy submarines</li>
<li>Undertake functional design activities, modelling and analysis</li>
<li>Produce design documentation, Verification &amp; Validation evidence and safety justifications</li>
<li>Support specification qualification and procurement of components, working collaboratively with suppliers</li>

Your skills and experiences:
Essential:

<li>Familiarity with systems and equipment involving; firefighting hose reels/nozzles, pumps, water mist systems, Aqueous Film Forming Foam, etc.</li>
<li>Experience in high-pressure systems, or life-support technologies</li>
<li>Proven capability in system lifecycle delivery – from concept through to commissioning</li>
<li>Demonstrated leadership – either through technical direction, mentoring, or project ownership</li>
<li>Chartered engineer or working towards professional accreditation</li>

Firefighting / SMERAS Systems Engineer

Job title: Associate Systems Engineer
Location: New Malden, Surrey
Salary: Circa £35,000 depending on skills and experience

What you’ll be doing:

Contribute to the elaboration and agreement of system requirements understanding the change in system capability against an established design baseline

The SMCS team:
As a Systems Engineer, you will provide Systems engineering support for the Submarine Command System (SMCS) projects/programmes. The SMCS provides situation awareness (via Tactical Picture Compilation) and Weapons Management capability for all submarines in the Royal Navy flotilla including the existing Astute and Vanguard Class submarines and future platform class Dreadnought.
In our ‘Systems’ team the work encompasses system design, requirements &amp; acceptance management and other general systems engineering considerations such as Security, Safety, Performance, Human Factors, Availability &amp; Reliability.
