This team oversee installation and test of the Combat System on the build boats. This role is specifically External Communication – working with the operations department to install kit, bringing subcontractors in and other specialists to undertake installation or test activity throughout the lifecycle of the build up to exit.
You will have the opportunity to operate the kit and work closely with ship staff on the boat, this will help them through a range of training and handover of the system once the kit has been matured.

Principal Software Engineer

Job Title: Engineer – Seamanship

What you’ll be doing :
<ul>
<li>Supporting with the maturation of platform requirements</li>
<li>Working to analyse requirements to ensure traceability</li>
<li>Cross-organisation stakeholder engagement</li>
<li>Overseeing end-to-end processing and supporting with continuous improvement to ensure mitigation of technical concerns</li>
<li>Working with the wider team to support with defining/verifying acceptances</li>
<li>Assisting with the development and satisfaction of the programmes’ Verification &amp; Validation needs</li>
</ul>
Your skills and experiences:
<ul>
<li>Systems engineering domain knowledge</li>
<li>Ability to translate technical issues to a wider stakeholder audience</li>
<li>Requirements management toolsets knowledge (e.g. Doors / Cradle)</li>
<li>Degree Level Qualification (ideally STEM) or Equivalent experience in a similar role</li>
<li>Ability to identify issues / Future risk, evaluate &amp; implement solutions</li>
