What you’ll be doing:
<ul>
<li>Working as part of an Integrated Development Team, established to develop and deliver submarine systems / capability</li>
<li>Specifically focusing on ensuring that Product Safety tasking and activities are completed across multiple systems in support of project milestones through all stages of Engineering Life Cycle Management</li>
<li>Supporting Hazard Identification and Analysis studies</li>
<li>Assisting with or generating safety reports</li>
<li>Ensuring the Integrated Development Team operates within the project Safety Management System</li>
<li>Liaising with other Integrated Development Teams and the Whole Boat Safety Team</li>
</ul>
Your skills and experiences: 
Essential:
<ul>
<li>Product Safety Requirements identification and capture</li>
<li>Product Safety hazard identification and analysis using internationally recognised techniques such as Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), Functional Hazard Assessment (FHA), Functional Safety Analysis (FSA), Zonal Hazard Analysis (ZHA), Hazard and Operability Analysis (HAZOP), Accident Sequence Modelling (ASM)</li>
<li>Delivery of Product Safety cases and management systems</li>
<li>Review and appraisal of Product Safety cases, influencing others with constructive feedback</li>
<li>Auditing Product Safety management systems, learning, sharing and influencing others with constructive feedback</li>
</ul>
Desirable:
<ul>
<li>Working towards professional chartership</li>
<li>An accomplished engineer with a passion for “things Product Safety”</li>

Senior Engineer – Product Safety

Job Title: Principal Safety &amp; Environmental Engineer

Salary: Negotiable, depending on experience
What you’ll be doing:
<ul>
<li>
Develop, implement and maintain the Project Safety Management System within a Systems Engineering framework
</li>
<li>
Produce and manage Project Safety Management Plans &amp; Justification Plans
</li>
<li>
Lead Whole Boat Product Safety hazard and risk identification, management and assessment activities, including modern analysis techniques such as STAMP &amp; STPA
</li>
<li>
Influence the construction and delivery of the Project Safety Case including Safety Case reports throughout the projects lifecycle
</li>
<li>
Complete peer reviews, checking, verification and assurance tasks to demonstrate the adequacy and robustness of the Safety Case and supporting documentation
</li>
<li>
Oversee and peer review junior rules in the Product Safety team
</li>
<li>
Understand the application of wider Safety Case, Quality and HS&amp;E Management System documentation
</li>
</ul>
Your skills and experiences:
Essential:
<ul>
<li>
Science Technology Engineering Mathematics (STEM) Degree or equivalent qualification
</li>
<li>
Awareness of the challenges posed by the environment that the product will be exposed to
</li>
<li>
Experience in delivery of traditional safety analysis techniques such FMEA, HAZOP, FTA etc.
</li>
<li>
Experience in compilation and delivery Safety Case Reports and other supporting safety documentation e.g. plans, process, requirements etc.
</li>
<li>
Experience of development and working within a Projects Safety Management System
</li>
<li>
Ability to interpret technical data and produce clear, logical and robust safety arguments
</li>
</ul>
Desirable:
<ul>
<li>
Professional Chartership or working towards
</li>
<li>
Demonstrable knowledge of design, manufacturing, assembly, commissioning and testing submarines lifecycle phases.
</li>
<li>
Experience of modern safety analysis techniques such as STAMP, STPA, FRAM etc.
</li>
<li>
Experience and knowledge of System Engineering International Standards and application in safety engineering context
</li>
<li>
Previous experience of leading appropriate meetings and Working Groups
</li>
