Senior Engineer – Product Safety

Job title: SHE Advisor – Policy &amp; Governance 
Location: Barrow-in-Furness. This is a full-time on-site role

What you’ll be doing:

<li>
Delivering process management support and expert consultation to a diverse range of stakeholders, driving continuous improvement initiative
</li>
<li>
Leading the facilitation pf process development activities across the Submarines business
</li>
<li>
Providing timely, consistent guidance, coaching, and governance on Safety, Health, and Environmental (SHE) standards and legislation to support all organisational activities
</li>
<li>
Contributing to the development and integration of an enhanced safety culture within the Submarines business, while actively supporting the SHE improvement programme
</li>
<li>
Maintaining a professional and accountable interface with key stakeholders, including functional leads, regulatory bodies, contractors, and customers
</li>
<li>
Ensuring the effective and timely delivery of all relevant elements of the Safety, Health, and Environment Operational Plan and Strategy across all submarine sites
</li>

Your skills and experiences:
Essential:
<ul>
<li>
Proven background in the development and implantation of robust management systems
</li>
<li>
Demonstrated experience in drafting policy documents, official company codes, or formal documentation
</li>
<li>
Strong ability to interpret and apply relevant regulations, Approved Codes of Practice (ACoPs), and industry guidance
</li>
<li>
Possession of a NEBOSH General Certificate or a equivalent health and safety qualification
</li>
</ul>
Desirable:
<ul>
<li>
Skilled in delivering training and coaching to individuals or teams
</li>
<li>
Experience or understanding of data record retention practices and associated compliance requirements
</li>
