The Build Integration – External Communications team:
This team oversee installation and test of the Combat System on the build boats. This role is specifically External Communication – working with the operations department to install kit, bringing subcontractors in and other specialists to undertake installation or test activity throughout the lifecycle of the build up to exit.
You will have the opportunity to operate the kit and work closely with ship staff on the boat, this will help them through a range of training and handover of the system once the kit has been matured.

Principal Software Engineer

Job Title: Engineer – Seamanship

• Liaise with customers and/or suppliers in assigned areas on engineering matters and produce Procurement Pack documentation

• Knowledge and experience of naval and/or commercial ship seamanship systems with the experience to support system and spatial integration issues with other disciplines
• Seamanship includes the design or operation of boat handling systems, anchor and mooring equipment, RAS, Lifesaving and stores handling equipment

Software Development Lead

Job Title: Senior Submarine Stealth Engineer
Location: Barrow-in-Furness- Onsite
Salary: Competitive
What you’ll be doing:
<ul>
<li>Collaboratively work with multi-functional teams to design and develop low signature equipment, systems and the whole platform, by agreeing technical requirements, assessment methodologies and acceptance criteria</li>
<li>Supporting the generation of acoustic, electromagnetic and non-acoustic signature reports at key review stages of the submarine design</li>
<li>Reviewing of system design documentation to ensure that electromagnetic and non-acoustic signature requirements have been addressed</li>
<li>Identifying and development of modelling work packages to predict electromagnetic and non-acoustic signature performance</li>
<li>Collaborating with the Stealth Engineering Test team to develop test procedures and analysis in test cells to develop acoustic, electromagnetic and non-acoustic signature management features, including the design of appropriate test rigs</li>
<li>Interpreting acoustic, electromagnetic and non-acoustic measurement and assessment of submarine machinery at factory and on board, ensuring that signature levels are suitable to maintain the stealth requirements</li>
<li>Supporting large scale acoustic, electromagnetic and non-acoustic signature trials during major commissioning activities</li>
</ul>
Your skills and experiences:
Essential:
<ul>
<li>Qualified to Degree level in Maths, Physics, Oceanography, Engineering, or associated STEM degree</li>
<li>knowledge of the principles of acoustic, electromagnetism</li>
<li>Knowledge of stealth technology development or ship/submarine signature technology</li>
<li>Requirements management</li>
</ul>
Desirable:
<ul>
<li>Knowledge of submarine or naval engineering</li>
<li>Using DOORS</li>
