Job Title: Senior/Principal Platform Systems Mechanical Engineer
Location: Barrow-in-Furness. This position will require full time on-site presence

What you’ll be doing: 
<ul>
<li>Developing the package of design evidence required to justify a safe, effective design and generate customer confidence in the design solution</li>
<li>Specifying and assisting in the build of prototypes, products and systems suitable for testing</li>
<li>Providing timely corrective actions on all assigned defects and issues</li>
<li>Ensuring that commitments are agreed, reviewed and met</li>
<li>Mentoring junior engineers regarding technical matters</li>
<li>Making presentations effectively to technical and management audiences and within this, be able to identify and keep abreast of novel technical concepts and markets</li>
<li>Author/co-author technical reports, papers, articles, patents and presentations as required</li>
</ul>
Your skills and experiences: 
<ul>
<li>Educated to Degree level in Engineering, Mechanical or Science Subjects</li>
<li>Be able to design documentation with the ability to present these to customers and wider groups</li>
<li>Have the ability to solve complex engineering calculations</li>
<li>Have an Engineering Lifecycle background</li>
<li>Be proficient in CAD, MS Office and be comfortable with other IT applications</li>

The Platform Physical Design Team:
Part of the specialist engineering services, the Platform Physical Design and Installation Service’s provides a key role in physically incorporating Integrated Combat System’s Equipment onto our Royal Navy Submarine Fleet.
